AUTUMN'S GLORY

It's summers end and autumn
commences to unfold
Bringing with it wondrous colours
from red to shining gold

Although this season heralds
that winter's on its way
There's nothing can compare
with its wonderful display
So don't be saddened that it ends
summers many shades of green
Their replacement's a blend of colours
that no other season's seen
Perhaps Mother Nature's saying sorry
that summertime must end
So she offers us this blaze of glory
knowing soon that she must send
Strong winds that strip the trees bare
as their leaves fall to the ground
To lay like multi coloured carpets
that give off a rustling sound
There for kids to kick and scuff through
on their way to school
Laughing with glee as the wind
whips them into spinning whirlpools
So be thankful for this rainbow
of autumns glorious shades
It is a breath taking gift for us
that Mother Nature made.
