I was working alongside the British Military in Germany and saw first hand via the TV channel ZDF that historical and very emotional moment that the East West wall fell on November 9th 1989.

BERLIN'S WALL
They built a wall in the middle of the night
Without asking if they really had the right
To split both the town and families in two
Not giving them a choice in what they could do
Or what it would mean, or which side would be best
Was the question asked in both the East and West
Would their lives be the same as they were before
How long will it last nobody knew for sure
Many lives would be lost whilst trying to flee
From the iron fisted rule of the STASI
Twenty-eight years later I was pleased to say
With no wall Berlin is united today
