A long haul flight to Australia involved a two night stop over in Singapore. Fantastic I thought rubbing my hands with glee as I remembered Orchard Road and it's mile and a half of very up market shops.
Thank goodness they had a Marks & Spencer’s too.

DELAYED LUGGAGE

We left snow and ice far behind
Arrived in Singapore to find

No sign of our luggage could we see
The whole of the plane, not just me

The plane was loaded we were led to believe
With the aid of gritters we were deceived
Only on landing did we get to know
Our cases never left Heathrow

We will forward them on was BA's cry
Oh yes madam we'll certainly try

To get them to you for what it's worth
If not we'll send them on to Perth

So my three days in Singapore went by
With one change of clothes but I

Received some money to compensate
Because my case would be two days late

100 Singapore dollars it made me smile
Was supposed to make it all worth while

For the worry and the lack of shoes
I know what I would rather choose

A journey free of cares and woes
When my luggage was left at Heathrow.
COLOURED TEARS
If only tears were coloured how
simple it would be to know
How exactly we should react
when they begin to flow
We could see in just an instant
what action we should take
Which could save us from making
embarrassing mistakes
If Joyous tears were like a sparkling
coloured rainbow
And those shed for sadness were
dark blue then we would know
How to respond in a thoughtful
and comforting way
Instead of mumbling a few words
whilst simply turning away.
