Something I always liked to do as a child was to lie flat on my back on the lawn and see what pictures the clouds made. I still do but have given up laying out on the lawn to do it ! Beverley
CLOUD PICTURES
Laid on my back gazing up at the sky
I made pictures from the clouds passing by
Sometimes it would seem they were hung so low
I could reach up and touch them and help them go
The days when the sky was grey overhead
We stayed indoors and played games instead
I loved the magic of playing I spy
Laying on my back squinting up at the sky
Seeing houses, people and ships at sea
It was strange how many things I could see
Though the other kids tried with all their might
They never spotted the things I would sight
Complained I made things up and could not see
Those pictures that were oh so clear to me
I just laid back with a smile on my face
Watching the clouds in their heavenly chase
At times I saw some silver lined ones too
Not very often, but more than a few
In my youthful days I just never knew
Clouds absorbed and reflected sunlight too
That they emitted heat with the effect
Of reducing the heat on our planet
All I knew was the joy they could bring
To a child spending time picture making
