DREAMS

Are dreams wishes made in the night
That disappear with morning light
Leaving a glimmer to remain
To tantalize and tease your brain
Fleeting images will appear
Then vanish before they come clear
Though sad and troubled many seem
Others are peaceful and serene
Old loves return and you still feel
The way you did it's all so real
Your heart's filled with love and joy
That only waking can destroy
And take away that inner calm
Felt in your dreams like soothing balm
If dreams are wishes why can't they
Remain with you throughout the day
TOMORROW'S SUNRISE
Don't regret yesterday's dreams
that simply faded away
Look towards tomorrow's sunrise
that heralds a brand new day
Brush aside your tears of sadness and
replace them with a smile
Remember to count all your blessings
then in a short while
Peace and contentment will soon
return and comfort you
Then you can start to build new dreams
and these very well may come true
Everyone should have a goal or
some special dream to work to
Though some may not reach fulfilment
please don't let that deter you.
EX – PAT’s LAMENT
Days always filled with sunshine
and blue skies
Were once all I dreamed about
so now tell me why
Wistful thoughts of mist
and grey morning rain
Invade my thoughts and
Dreams time and again
Lush fields of green in
every shade and hue
Lay like patchwork quilts
for all to view
Those rolling hills and valleys
of it’s countryside
Are things I speak of now
with longing and pride
For you can’t compare this
to any other land
The one I left behind my
evergreen England
