FIRST FLIGHT

Fly little bird go spread your wings
You have so many wondrous things

To see way up there high in flight
Please leave your nest don't stay from fright

One day majestically you will soar
And we on the ground will gaze up in awe

As rivers forests and deep lakes of blue
Mountains and valleys pass beneath you

Spread your wings little bird not in fear but delight
Share with us the beauty of your first flight

Fly soon little bird for you haven't got long
To build up your wings and make them strong
As nature decrees for your species sake
A long perilous journey you have to make

Before winter comes you must be far away
To a land where the sun will shine each day

Don't be scared little bird try with all your might
To launch yourself off on your very first flight

The other fledglings have shown that they do
Have the courage to fly now it's your turn too

Your wings little bird will bring such delights
As they lift you up to the highest of heights
