GOOD INTENTIONS

I'm going to get up each morning and walk a mile around the deck
But then I have a late night and say, "oh, what the heck"
I've got loads of time to do that before I get off this cruise
I'll just watch how much I eat and cut down on the booze
Then it won't be so hard to lose the extra pounds I ought to
I've heard your clothes do shrink from sea air and the ship's water
The Captain said this in his speech so I guess it must be true
That is just a little tip I thought I'd pass on to you
Some days I'd join the walkers in an effort to keep trim
But they all seemed so serious and their faces looked so grim
Though three times around the deck is not my idea of heaven
It would mean at the end of the cruise total mileage forty seven.
