HeAVENLY DISHARMONY
ECLIPSE

Please move away the Sun
shouted angrily to the moon
You should not be out in the day
You've come out too soon
Well in an eclipse I'm allowed
to be out in the day
So really Mister Sun there is
nothing you can say

But what will happen asked the Sun
to my bright rays of light
Well for a while replied the Moon
it will be just like night
The Stars then joined in the
argument and loudly declared
There's more than enough heavenly
space for us all to share

And you know Mister Sun you
do have wonderful sunsets
Whilst Mister Moon has only
a very short time at best
To be the main attraction in
what is your daytime show
It really would be good if you
could just let things go

So please do just let him enjoy
his few moments of fame
Because you know tomorrow that
things will be back the same
All right then all you stars
I will listen to what you say
But it had better not last much
longer than just today
Reflected Glory
Do not fear basking in my reflected
glory said the Sun to the moon
And do please try and remember not to
come out and shine your light too soon

Your job's not to come out in the
daytime you've to stay in until the night
Only then is the time that you get
to shine your cold pale silvery light

I know you think that you're far more
important the Moon replied angrily
But really there is no need to be so
rude and unpleasant to me

True I may only follow behind the
Earth when it circles around you
But there's also Mercury and Venus
and other planets up here too

Do you tell them when they can be
seen by others from above or below
Or only me because I'm lighting the
night sky with my silver like glow

Everyone knows that twice a
year I hide your light from view
Just forget your thoughts of reflected
glory for I have no fear of you
STAR'S INTERVENTION
The North Star got impatient with
the squabbling Moon and Sun
Told them they were outnumbered
by the Stars, thousands to one

You and all the Planets maybe
much larger than we are
But we gave birth to navigation
which proved to be so far

Just as useful as you warmth Sun
and Moon your nightly rays
So stop your silly arguments
for nothing you can say

Will make any difference or change
the parts that you both play
You'll both come out separately
and that's how it will stay

You will reign in the daytime Sun
Moon your time is at night
Now just settle down there's
simply no need for you to fight
