"In 2000 after having neurosurgery, I was left Permanently Deaf in my left ear. This of course was a rather traumatic thing to get over. I handled it in my usual way by writing a couple of verses of poetry. I forgot about it until I found them. So 22 years after starting this poem I am pleased to say I have finally finished it."      Beverley
