LIFE OUTSIDE

On the outside always looking in
Yes that was the way my life has been
Although smiling for everyone to see
Yet no one got to know the real me

Unable to breach the shell that hid
What lay deep inside so I just did
Live the way that they thought I should do
Happy and carefree though it was not true

I laughed cracked jokes then I could hide
My needs to stop living on the outside
Hidden down there deep within my core
You saw things that no one has before
