PHOTO FINISHES

If only my life was a photograph
I could airbrush away things from the past
Those things that were simply not meant to be
Like the day you fell out of love with me

Why can't life be made out of celluloid
It would give me the chance to fill the void
That aching hole where my heart used to be
Left empty the day you stopped loving me

I'd give anything for a second chance
To clean off the slate and re-dance the dance
And restore things to how they used to be
To the day you first fell in love with me

Every night before sleeping now I pray
The clocks will be turned back the next day
That time has stood still allowing things to be
The way they were when you still loved me
