A PEN A PAD & ME
Writing gives me pleasure
no matter where I go
I take my pen and pad with me
because you never know
Just when inspiration
will hit you in a rush
In the high street shopping
or queuing for a bus
I get some funny looks from
the people passing by
As I lean against a wall
and my pen begins to fly
Like lightening across the
paper in perfect harmony
With the thoughts and ideas
that have just come over me
But I pay no attention to their
stares and to their grins
Fact is little do they know they
could be appearing in
The latest verse I'm writing
be it long or be it short
I only know when ideas
come that I simply ought
To put pen to paper no
matter where or when
Because if lost that idea
may never come again.
