One of my favourite performers on my cruises was a singer called Paul. From the very first time I saw him when he started his show by singing three of my favourite songs. I was hooked and could always be found as close to the front of the audience as I could get.

THE SINGER

He is a singer who wakens past dreams
Tonight there are almost times it would seem

He's chosen and sang his songs just for me
But that is impossible for you see
There's no way on earth he could ever know
Which favourites of mine to sing in his show
Songs that take me back to my yesteryears
To the days of my youth when I had no fears
What's growing old I can still hear me say
That's for tomorrow I'll live for today

And I really did live life to the full
Few cares and worries just playing it cool

Taking nothing and no one seriously
And all that I needed was to feel free
How strange that the voice of this man can call
Back times long ago with no effort at all
So please sing again the songs I've loved best
Let my mood, time and memories, do the rest
