CHORDS OF LOVE

A single word
can strike a chord
And bring back memories so sweet

Can pluck at strings
like violins
Make yesterdays return complete,

With thoughts of joy
time can't destroy
Though they lay dormant in deep sleep

But once returning
bring with them yearning
So bitter sweet that you must weep

For loves first dream
though it may seem
Lost and you have missed your chance

Do not despair
I know that there
Will come another time to dance

In someone's arms
with different charms
And yet another chord will play

Forget loss, have hope
then you will cope
Until a new love comes your way.

CAROUSEL OF LOVE
I've been twice around
the carousel of love
Thought I could touch both
moon and stars above
Once you've been on love's
merry-go-round my friend
You'll know there's no way
left you can pretend
It's truth when soft lips whisper
those sweet lies
Or it's love you see reflected
in those lying eyes
Because each time I took
that magic carpet ride
It ended faster than
a helter-skelter slide
You can believe me when I
say I know too well
What it's like to ride upon
love's carousel
Yes I've ridden twice around
before so you can see
Why there'll be no third time
on that carousel for me
You can not make me fall in
love your dark eyes
Nor can you tempt me with soft
looks and loving sighs
For I've been here before
and so my friend
I know exactly how this
carousel ride will end.
